Brian Tremblay: Roller Girl
On July 21, Brian Tremblay releases an old song that he dug out of the archives dating back to 2009. Tremblay resurrected the tune Roller Girl, did a remix and some mastering and breathed new life into the fourteen-year-old composition. The song was born when he was a full-time photographer and was creating a portrait of a roller derby skater. Although Roller Girl is based on truth, creative writing was applied to fill out the character and transform it into a song with some depth. Done in a blues style with a simple arrangement of acoustic guitar and harmonica, it's a throwback to the blues tunes that tell the stories of encounters with characters that are easily imagined.
