Close Kicks: Guiding Light

Close Kicks: Guiding Light

Close Kicks new single "Guiding Light" is a vulnerable detail of the extraordinary moments around the passing of his Mother. Lyrically, the song weaves gently through the gravity of the situation leading up to, and then following her passing in April of 2024. The opening line, "I hold your hand, to feel the love that you spread to, everyone who got to know you, it's your love we all hold onto" is just the start of a story that weighs in on how much he loved her and how his Mother's love had such an impact on all those she met. In a short 2 minutes, Close Kicks is able to encompass a wave of emotions he carried on his shoulders through his lyrics in a gentle and beautiful way. "Guiding Light" also introduces different audio clips of memories of his Mother and family that brings the listener to tears and further connects you to this emotional story. The song ends with one of those audio clips you couldn't even script, with his Mother speaking to her granddaughter about the importance of "love" and how it can make you feel better.

Close Kicks says, "I hope this is a song that can help others in moments of their grief, as it helped me, and continues to help me as I still manage my grief almost one year after her passing".
