Ken Whiteley: So Glad I’m Here

Ken Whiteley: So Glad I’m Here

So Glad I’m Here, Ken Whiteley’s newest album, began as a freewheeling collaboration with Sufi music master, Davod Azad supported by George Koller on string bass. This recording celebrates connection across cultural, spiritual and musical traditions. It combines Ken’s diverse blues, folk and gospel with Davod’s middle eastern, mystic excitement. Singers Amoy and Ciceal Levy, Sharon Riley and David Wall all added their incredible voices and Nagmeh Farahmand, Bucky Berger, Ben Whiteley and Chris Whiteley made wonderful instrumental contributions.

The songs range from traditional tunes like Wayfaring Stranger, spirituals to Whiteley originals. The single, “There’s A Candle” was inspired by the 13th century Persian poet, Rumi and we are invited to ignite the flame of love in our hearts and let it fill our souls. That single is available as a free download this month at www.kenwhiteley.com.
