Marc Audet: Those Days

Marc Audet: Those Days

Songwriting and recording are central to Marc Audet’s ambitions with his folk music act, and his latest album released 2024 January 31 is a full length studio album entitled THOSE DAYS. This is his fourth album, following Open Water (2023, studio EP), Forgotten Memories (2022, live folklore album) and The River (2019, studio album).

THOSE DAYS is a collection of songs that offers a wide variety of song topics and musical stylings, from traditional folk to Canadiana roots and contemporary folk. There are songs that are soulful, thought provoking, upbeat, funky, a couple with a humorous character, and of course there are songs about the history and heritage of the Ottawa Valley from Marc’s central interest in historical songwriting.

All 12 songs written entirely by Marc Audet are backed with fabulous Ottawa Valley musicians such as Alastair MacDonald and Jim Beattie (accordion), Peter Brown (piano and keyboard), Bradley Audet (whistle), Kurt Penny, Rich Allen and Brian Hebert (mandolin), Jenna Steele (harmony vocals), Rodger Coulombe (banjo and lap steel), and Pete Boudoi (light percussion). Beautiful fiddle tracks are on many songs, thanks to the award-winning Master Fiddler Brian Hebert. The album is now available on most streaming platforms and CDs will be available in March.
