From October 24th to 29th, 2023, a remarkable delegation of Canadian artists, companies, and organizations descended upon WOMEX in A Coruña, creating an electrifying week dedicated to networking, professional development, and sensational music. The event was graced with performances by notable talents, including the incredible acts of Shauit and Ramon Chicharron, showcase alumni of Folk Music Ontario. A fantastic training and mentorship session took place on Tuesday, the 24th, accompanied by a reception and showcase that wowed the crowded room!
Among the highlights was the bustling Canadian alley within the exhibit hall, featuring CINARS, Indigenous Music Summit, Folquébec, Folk Canada (Folk Music Ontario & Folk Music Canada), Sunfest London, Global Toronto, and Small World Music. The collective was thrilled to connect with many delegates, fostering promising relationships that we eagerly anticipate nurturing into the future.
The camaraderie, collaborations, and sheer talent on display left an indelible mark at WOMEX 2023. We're excited about the connections made and are eager to maintain these friendships moving forward.
