This quirky, old-fashioned ballad was inspired by corny punchlines from Zoe’s Grandfather’s personal writings, discovered after his death. Intended to be a commentary on 40 years of his life as a husband, his “zingers” are reinvented here, to serve the lamentations of a put-upon ex-wife. This soulful homage to female artists like Wanda Jackson is delivered with lush mandolin arrangements by Kevin Breit, and horn arrangements by Rebecca Hennessy.
